On April 13, 2010, SYMVIONICS completed the modification of the fifth U.S. Navy 2F87 P-3C Operational Flight Trainer, which incorporates an Electronic Flight Display System (EFDS) and Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) avionics. This trainer is located at MCAS NAS Jacksonville, FL; which was returned to the fleet 10 days ahead of schedule with zero discrepancies after a rigorous test program. Four other 2F87 devices were previously modified – one located at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, HI; one located at NAS Whidbey Island, WA; and two at NAS Jacksonville, FL. Modifications to these other four trainers were also completed ahead of schedule. One more is scheduled to receive the modifications (also at NAS Jacksonville, FL). This concurrency upgrade was a major modification to the training device, providing Navy aircrews with the necessary training to meet fleet readiness goals. This contract was performed as a Delivery Order under the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) Training System Contract II (TSC II) Lot 1 Multiple Award Contract. SYMVIONICS is a prime contractor on the TSC II Lot 1 contract.
