On February 9, 2021, SYMVIONICS supported the completion of Phases 1 & 2 (1,200-seat threshold) of the CNATT VDI program, as a subcontractor to Bowhead Business & Technology Solutions, LLC (Bowhead). SYMVIONICS’ effort fully upgraded the network to 40Gb fiber (up from 1Gb copper), and there are now 1,221 “seats” converted over from thick clients to zero clients and over 1,250 desktops running on the first cluster which consists of 20 nodes.

Students and instructors are now actively using the VDI system to perform training operations. The next three phases will convert 600 seats to zero clients, per phase, to bring the total up to 3,000. Based on the robust hardware design provided, the schoolhouse will be able to run all 1,221 seats from Phases 1 and 2 on cluster 1, which is over 20 percent above the original design goal of 1,000 desktops per cluster.
